
Susan Marie Colton, 66, of Yakima, WA, passed away peacefully at her sister’s house surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on February 2, 2019.
Susan was born March 30, 1952 in Yakima, WA to Robert and Jean Bjur. She graduated from Toppenish High School in 1970. She received her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in 1974. She met her husband while working a summer job. They bought a farm in Zillah and raised their four kids.
Susan enjoyed a long career at Cedar Hills Retirement Home. She was awarded caregiver of the year multiple times. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Micaela and husband Eli Whitaker, and Daelene; her sons, Ryan and Kevin; her grandsons, Ashton, Nathan, Payton, Mason, Tyson, and Bryson, and her granddaughter, Kylieanne; her sisters, Laura Matzen and Joann (Joel) Schaan; her brothers, Gary (Colleen), Ron (Tami) and Brian; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean, brother, Wayne, and sister, Sandy.
